Saffia and Amy discuss the valuation process, the role the executor has regarding getting the property ready for sale, when is the right time to put the property on the market.
They flag up the importance of ensuring the empty property is still insured and highlight how council tax is applied to vacant properties.

In this episode, clinical negligence lawyers Lucy Small and Phoebe Blythin explain how, whilst not policy across the NHS as of yet, the introduction of Martha's rule has come about. Martha lost her life at the age of 13 after developing sepsis following an accident. Martha's death could have been prevented.
Martha's parents have fought for patients and their families to now have the right for an urgent second opinion to improve patient safety, no matter their age.

In this episode, we welcome Andrew Jenkins, who speaks with solicitor Debbie Humphries. Andrew talks about his background. Being involved in a road traffic accident in 1999, he sustained a brain injury, which eventually led him to becoming a brand ambassador for Headway.
It was identified that Andrew needed emotional support after his accident, and counselling was suggested. On reflection, he now recognises he was probably suffering from depression. Fifteen years later, he undertook counselling, which transformed his life. Andrew, having now removed his own mask, is self-aware and particularly loves working with children to educate and inspire.

In this episode we welcome managing partner Brian Evans who's chatting with Emma Harrison about qualifying as a solicitor and how things are changing. The SRA have introduced the SQE route in order to standardise the process, reduce the financial impact on students and improve accessibility.
Brian and Emma discuss all the options now available, highlighting that funding for the SQE can be harder to find, however the new graduate apprenticeships could be an option. They talk about the journey to qualifying, including the options to experience different types of law during the process, and how those on the apprenticeship route benefit from support by the training provider as well as the firm.
